Other than dressing up in costumes, Halloween is all about yummy treats. Of course you are not limited to just candy when it comes to Halloween food. Here are some great snack and meal ideas. These are perfect for a Halloween party, or as a way to enjoy the excitement as you count down to the big day.

Fix your favorite sandwich on white bread. One of our favorites for these ghostly sandwiches is a turkey and cheese sandwich with just a touch of mayonnaise (all white ingredients for a spooky white ghost). Fix the sandwich as usual, then use a ghost cookie cutter to cut it into ghost shapes. If you don have a ghost cookie cutter, you can cut the ghost freehand or make a simple pattern out of cardboard or wax paper to use as a guide.

Make a batch of your favorite sugar cookie dough, or use a pack of refrigerated dough from your grocery store. Roll out the dough and cut out bat shapes. Use a bat shaped cookie cutter, or cut them freehand.

Melt some dark chocolate and brush it on the bat cookie. Of course you could also dip one side of the cookie in the melted chocolate and set the cookies on some wax paper until the chocolate has a chance to harden. After that they are ready to eat or store in an airtight container.

Start with a plain flour tortilla. Spread some pimento cheese on it, or layer some sliced ham and shredded cheddar cheese on there. Anything orange works well. Wrap the tortilla tightly, then cut it in inch slices. Lay each of the slices on its side and use some nuts, raisins or small pieces of veggies (like yellow or red peppers) to make the eyes and mouth of your little Jack O Lantern tortilla Wrap.

Start with your favorite pizza dough or a ready made crust. Top it with pizza sauce and your favorite toppings. Add a layer of cheddar cheese on top. Then use slices of green pepper to make the ridges of the pumpkin you arrange them in ( ) shapes around the pizza pan. Use pepperoni slices or red and yellow pepper slices to form the jack o lantern face. Bake as usual.

mont blanc pens cost With Pen in Hand

The practice of putting pen to paper may be severely stunted, but it’s far from dead. People still use pens to take notes, write letters and append signatures to documents of all sorts. Of course the kind of pen used depends on the kind of person and the task at hand. Can you imagine President Bush signing an important treaty with a 79 cent ballpoint? Or the flashy Trump inking an artful deal with less than an 18 karat gold nib? Do corporate titans jot notes with pens less distinctive than they imagine themselves to be?

Of course not. You can tell there’s a huge market for upscale and vintage pens by scanning glossy pen publications, or the high powered pen activity on the Web or by eavesdropping on the approximately 2,000 pen aficionados who packed the Manhattan Beach Marriott ballroom at the recent 14th annual Los Angeles International Pen Show.

These are not the sort of men and women who’d ever buy shrink wrapped models at the market. They are collectors, folks who started with one fine pen and suddenly found themselves stockpiling as many as they could handle. If you’re imagining a group of fusty ink stained codgers, you’re way off base. The place was jumping with technophiles so invested in the future that they seemed to have a heightened appreciation for the fleeting present and the hallowed past. Many say they have thought long and hard about civilization, about the fact that knowledge has survived largely because it has been passed directly by hand, via writing on stone, then parchment and then paper. They are not about to let the tradition die.

Some of the 158 booths were showcases for top of the line pen firms, but the real draw, the reason collectors traveled from 15 countries to be there, was to meet and greet pen lovers as passionate as themselves, with whom they could trade, sell and swap or just brag a bit.

Chris Odgers, a show co sponsor, is the director of technology at Warner Bros. He collects early Parker fountain pens, made in the 1890s to 1920s. His wife and little boy were with him at the table where he displayed elegant examples, some of which he was willing to sell or trade. Mostly, he was there to buy, he said. He kept his real treasures hidden beneath the display table in a plastic tackle box, each individually wrapped in cloth. Among them, a Parker “bullet pen” from 1917, used by soldiers to write letters home during World War I. It looks like a real bullet, but opens to reveal a nib.

Soldiers filled these with ink from eyedroppers before going into battle, Odgers said, then attached the pens to their watch chains for use in the trenches at quiet times. Just looking at the well worn metal casing makes you hear guns of war in your head, makes you wonder whose hands held this pen,
mont blanc in the alps With Pen in Hand
who its owner wrote to, and whether he survived. This one was not for sale. For his daily writing enjoyment, Odgers has a selection of more modern writing instruments, he said. He pulled from his pocket the Agatha Christie, made by Mont Blanc in about 1993. It’s a reproduction of a 1920s model a full bodied shape in gleaming black, with emerald eyes staring from the head of a sterling silver serpent that coils down the cap to form the clip.

There are two kinds of pen people, it turns out: those who collect to save, and those who collect to use. Many at the show were both kinds rolled into one. They own valuable vintage pens that they display but never use, and a different set they rotate for use on a daily basis.

“We’re all little kids in this room,” said Bert Hurlbut, a construction manager for the new UCLA medical center building in Westwood. He was carrying some vintage pens from his collection so he could play a favorite game. “I go up to a guy and flop one of my pens on the table. He flops down a better one of his. I flop down an even better one of mine. We go on like this until he says, ‘You’ve got me.’ At that point, I’ve won.”

Hurlbut opens his jacket to reveal a shirt pocket packed with pens and two huge patch pockets sewn into the jacket on either side, each of which is packed with pens. They are individually wrapped in chamois and in little plastic bags. “I’ve got at least 30 in here, he says, patting a huge pocket. I’ve got one that’s astronomical a Parker ribbon pen from 1905. And a Waterman filigree, 1911.” Pen people never need to utter the word “pen” when referring to their stash. It’s always a specific make and style, as in: Parker “Big Red,” a Parker 51, a Pelikan Green, a Sheaffer Legacy. Hurlbut says he’s partial to Parkers.

Stephen Overbury, originally of Toronto, is a self described “expert dealer” in Japanese lacquer fountain pens. “These pens cannot be forged,” he said. “The art of lacquer is 9,000 years old. It takes up to six months to make one pen. For an artist to learn lacquer, it can take up to 30 years.” He has written a self published pen book, “Namiki: The Art of Japanese Lacquer,” and has even established residence in Japan to be closer to the source.

UPDATED: 7/26/17 5:57 pm ET adds details, photo

DETROIT Fiat Chrysler former labor relations chief, Alphons Iacobelli, used $1 million intended to train UAW members to buy himself a Ferrari, two solid gold pens costing $37,500 each, a swimming pool and other luxuries, according to an indictment from a federal grand jury on Wednesday.

Iacobelli, who abruptly left the automaker in June 2015, also allegedly helped funnel $1.2 million from the UAW Chrysler National Training Center to General Holiefield, who was in charge of the UAW negotiations with FCA at the time. Holiefield died in 2015, but his widow, Monica Morgan, also was indicted. Holiefield and Morgan, 54, used the money to buy first class airfare, jewelry, designer clothing and furniture, the indictment says, in addition to paying off the $262,000 mortgage on their suburban Detroit home.

Iacobelli, 57, and Morgan, 54, were charged with criminal violations of the National Labor Relations Act. Separately, federal officials announced fraud charges against a former FCA financial analyst, Jerome Durden, who is accused of creating false tax returns to hide the payments to Holiefield, Iacobelli and other beneficiaries who were not identified. Attorney Office Eastern District of Michigan declined to comment on if other individuals would be charged, citing it is an ongoing investigation. David DuMouchel, Iacobelli lawyer, declined to comment. Steve Fishman, Morgan attorney, didn immediately respond to an email seeking comment.

The charges come at an inopportune time for the company and union, as thousands of Nissan workers in Canton, Miss., are scheduled to vote next week on UAW representation. For FCA,

it adds to a wave of legal trouble for a company beset by federal investigations into possible environmental, safety and securities violations.

The alleged actions occurred between 2009 and 2014. There was no date set for an arraignment.

The 42 page indictment charges Iacobelli and others acting in the interest of FCA with making over $1.2 million in prohibited payments to Morgan, Holiefield and others. There was no date set for an arraignment. It was not immediately clear if other individuals would be charged. The indictment lists several unnamed individuals who may have been involved in the conspiracy.

The alleged prohibited payments and gifts occurred between 2009 and 2014.

The payments were made, according to the grand jury, using funds from FCA that were transferred to the Chrysler UAW training center to provide education, training and retraining of workers. The indictment says Iacobelli gave Holiefield and senior UAW officials virtually unlimited and unscreened use of credit cards to keep them dumb and happy. also was charged with tax violations related to diverting over $1 million in funds from the training center for his own benefit, including purchases of: a Ferrari 458 Spider costing more than $350,000; leasing a private jet; two limited edition Mont Blanc pens costing $37,500 each; a pool and hundreds of thousands of dollars in improvements to his residence; and hundreds of thousands of dollars in personal credit card expenses, among other purchases.

Morgan also was charged with using the companies Monica Morgan Photography, Wilson’s Diversified Products and a third company to conceal payments made by Iacobelli and others acting in the interest of FCA to Holiefield and with failing to report the income she received through those companies on her individual tax returns. Attorney Lemisch also announced that a separate information was unsealed charging Durden, 61, with conspiracy to defraud the United States by impairing, impeding, and obstructing the Internal Revenue Service. Durden served as the controller of the training center from 2008 through 2015.

“The funds misapplied deprived working men and women of critical workforce and professional development opportunities and calls into question the integrity of contracts negotiated during the course of this criminal conspiracy, said David P. Gelios, Special Agent in Charge, Detroit Division of the FBI, in a statement. Attorney office, and it continues to all potential legal remedies against Mr. Iacobelli and any other culpable parties. US and the UAW were the victims of malfeasance by certain of their respective employees that held roles at the National Training Center (NTC), an independent legal entity, the company said in a statement. egregious acts were neither known to nor sanctioned by FCA US. company said it first learned about the alleged actions in June 2015, and after an internal investigation fired Durden and Iacobelli. FCA originally said Iacobelli retired from the company.

FCA says it also has worked with the UAW to implement governance, auditing and structural reforms to improve the accountability and transparency of the NTC.

‘Betrayal of trust’

UAW President Dennis Williams said in a statement late Wednesday that he is by the allegations laid out in the indictment, saying they would constitute betrayal of trust on Holiefield part.

Williams said the union has hired independent counsel to lead an internal investigation into the allegations. He said the UAW and FCA would implement a host of changes at enhancing transparency and internal controls at the NTC, including requiring an annual, independent audit of the NTC finances and banning donations from the center to charities run by UAW officials.

Iacobelli, meanwhile, was most recently hired by General Motors in January 2016 as executive director of labor relations. A spokesman for GM said the company is aware of the charges, and is into it. He declined to confirm if Iacobelli remains an employee.

An indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. Every defendant is entitled to a fair trial in which it will be the government’s burden to prove guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Ecclestone won two world titles with BrabhamBernie Ecclestone stands a little under 5ft 3in tall but for 40 years has wielded a giant influence in Formula 1 with canniness, wit and not a little menace.

At times, Ecclestone has had close to absolute power. So the end of his reign following the takeover of the sport by US giant Liberty Media represents a seismic change.

Ecclestone, now 86, is a tactician of remarkable skill, and a deal maker extraordinaire who used chutzpah and brinksmanship to turn F1 into one of the world’s biggest sports, form relationships with world leaders such as Russian president Vladimir Putin and make himself and many of F1’s participants multi millionaires.

Selling on the commercial rights to F1 is the source of Ecclestone’s vast wealth. But it was never about the money, per se it was about the deal. And now the deal has done him in.

Restructuring the finances of the sport in the first years of this decade, Ecclestone also reorganised its decision making process.

Ecclestone still has a lot to offer Horner

He did it to increase his power, but the structure he set up inadvertently neutered him and gave the big teams particularly Mercedes and Ferrari power to block him. This has led to log jam.

The latest company to buy the sport USA’s Liberty Media has looked at this, at a skewed prize money structure, at a policy that is threatening to price out much loved historic races in favour of characterless new ones in countries with questionable regimes, at a refusal to engage with digital media, and several other issues, and decided to ease him out.

Ecclestone is held in genuinely high regard within F1 for everything he has achieved but, outside a handful of acolytes,
mont blanc pen boheme Why F1's titanic leader was loved and loathed
few will be genuinely sorry to see him go.

There has been a feeling for some years that he is a man out of time, that the sport needed to move on. In truth, this has contributed to the stalemate in F1 people were simply waiting him out.

Many believe his departure will be good for the sport. However, it will certainly make F1 less colourful, and it is hard to imagine seeing the like of him again.

Where did he come from?Ecclestone’s involvement in F1 started in the late 1950s. After a brief driving career in lower categories, he emerged as a manager for the British F1 driver Stuart Lewis Evans but then disappeared from racing when Lewis Evans was killed in a fiery crash at the 1958 Moroccan Grand Prix.

He appeared again in the late 1960s, again as a manager, this time to the Austrian Jochen Rindt. He was already very rich.

Ecclestone (second from right) with James Hunt, Niki Lauda and Ronnie Peterson before the 1976 Japanese Grand PrixWhat had the fortune come from? “Property,” Ecclestone says. All manner of rumours have abounded, including that he was involved in organising the Great Train Robbery, when was stolen from a Royal Mail train in Buckinghamshire in 1963.

“Nah,” Ecclestone once said. “There wasn’t enough money on that train. I could have done something better than that.”

Rindt became F1’s first and so far only posthumous world champion after he was killed at the 1970 Italian Grand Prix. But this time Ecclestone did not retreat.

Within a couple of years, he bought Brabham from its founder, the three time world champion Sir Jack Brabham, and began establishing his power base.

climb mt blanc Why are fountain pen sales rising

You might expect that email and the ballpoint pen had killed the fountain pen. But sales are rising, so is the fountain pen a curious example of an old fashioned object surviving the winds of change?

For many people, fountain pens bring back memories of school days full of inky fingers, smudged exercise books and piles of pink blotting paper.

But for others, a fat Montblanc or a silver plated Parker is a treasured item. Prominently displayed, they are associated with long, sinuous lines of cursive script.

Sales figures are on the up. Parker, which has manufactured fountain pens since 1888, claims a worldwide “resurgence” in the past five years, and rival Lamy says turnover increased by more than 5% in 2011.

Online retailer Amazon says sales so far this year have doubled compared with the same period in 2011. They are four times higher than 2010.

Stationery giant Ryman has seen a 10% increase in fountain pen sales over the last six weeks compared with the same period last year.

But the rush to fountain pens is not part of a wider handwriting boom. Sales of ballpoint pens are stable.

Instead the fountain pen is a classic story of how an object’s status is affected by waves of new technology.

Fountains pens once ruled, but by the 1960s the perfection of ballpoint pen technology established a remorseless rival. It would have taken an optimistic soul then to predict anything other than extinction for the fountain pen a trip to the technological graveyard alongside the quill pen or the mangle.

But they didn’t die. The way people think about them has changed and is still changing.

“The relationship we have with a fountain pen is changing from it being a working tool towards more of an accessory,” says Gordon Scott, vice president for office products at Parker pens in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

“It was the first time I’d used a fountain pen since I was about 13. I found myself enjoying writing more slowly and liked the way I had to think through sentences differently. I discovered I loved the fact that handwriting forces you to do a second draft, rather than just tidying up and deleting bits on a computer. I also discovered I enjoy the tactile buzz of the ritual involved in filling the pens with ink.

“Now when I write novels I have two fountain pens on the go, with two different colour inks. One is always my favourite, but I alternate between the two, so I can see what I have written each day. I also love the way people react when I sign books with fountain pens. I try to sign them in different colours such as brown, green or grey as it is really nice to show that it’s obviously been done by a human being.

“I don’t have any time for incredibly fancy pens and use a different ‘lead’ pen for each novel. Right now I am using a Twsbi, which is an incredibly robust but smooth writing pen from Taiwan. My current favourite is a Visconti because it has a magnet in the lid which goes clunk when I put the top on I am easily satisfied. I probably have between 40 and 60 fountain pens, which is a bit silly, but once people are aware that you like them, they like to give them as gifts.”

“People want the memory of a fountain pen in a contemporary pen.”

Somehow, the fountain pen became a luxury item and found a niche.

If a president signs a treaty, they don’t do it with a Bic Cristal. If you give a loved one a pen, your thoughts might be more fountain than ballpoint.

It is the stuff of graduation presents and good luck on your first day at work.

And those who buy them for themselves are making a very self conscious choice.

The fountain pen has had to deal with both the ballpoint menace and the general threat to handwriting from the rise of email and other electronic messaging types.

But for the aficionados, an iridium nib is a statement.

They are “simple and honest” in a world governed by ubiquitous modern computer technology, says Martin Roberts, of online pen specialist The Writing Desk.

“There is a McDonald’s on every High Street but it does not prevent people from enjoying good, simple, home cooked food.”

mont blanc price list Who Makes Primewell Tires Will Surprise Consumers

mont blanc hiking tour Who Makes Primewell Tires Will Surprise Consumers

Who makes Primewell tires? How do they compare to other brands? What is their quality and price range? These are some of the questions a car owner may ask when shopping for a new set of tires. When you are looking to replace your car or truck tires, there are so many options. It can be overwhelming and frustrating. Finding the best product for your price range, vehicle, and personal needs is very important.

The Giti Company makes Primewell tires. Their headquarters are located in Singapore, and their manufacturing is based primarily in Shanghai, China. Their products are sold in over 100 countries worldwide, with sales operations in 13 different countries. They have been ranked as the 14th and 9th best tire company worldwide in separate publications.

Primewell has tires for a plethora of vehicles and a wide range of uses, including touring, performance, and sports performance. Getting the best product for your specific driving style is important for many reasons. Picking the right model will increase your vehicles efficiency and performance.

Quality Ratings Are Primewell Tires Good?As with all products you will find mixed reviews, however, Primewell ratings are good overall. These tires are widely available and are cheap when compared to other brands. Safety, durability, and affordable prices are just a few of the features that make Primewell Tires a great choice for customers.

Primewell Tire ReviewsWith so many products it is important to have a basic grasp on what you will find when looking at this brand. Having an idea of what you want and what to expect from a tire is important when shopping.

Sports PerformancePrimewell PS860 is the top rated sports performance tire from the company. They have many features to enhance their performance in wet weather such as lateral grooves and numerous sipes to improve traction. They have great tread stability because of their dual high tension belt system and nylon cap strips. This style of high performing tire is available in 9 different sizes to fit a wide variety of sporty cars.

Touring PassengerWhen looking for an all around solid product for your commuter car, with no frills, Primewell can do that too. Primewell PS830 reviews tell about its all season everyday driver utility. In order to provide good handling in all seasons and maximum efficiency this model has four grooves around the circumference of it that are extra wide. This allows for superior water evacuation and good road gripping ability. They also have a special design to ensure a smooth and quiet ride. This category of tire comes in over forty sizes.

TouringOther than their standard touring model, they also make the Primewell Valera touring tires. These are made for maximum comfort, control and efficiency. They have a dynamic rib system, which increases their handleability, as well as a variable pitch design that gives the driver the easy and relaxed cruise expected of a touring tire. While the Valera is an upgrade from the PS830, it is designed for the same purpose: comfort and control. These are ideal for long distance commuters and pleasure drivers alike, and they handle well in all weather conditions.

Maximum PerformanceA more specialized model is the PZ900, or Max Performance model. The Primewell PZ900 reviews tout this product as an excellent choice for drivers looking for ultra high performing tread for all road conditions. Though this style may not have the smooth riding comfort of the PS830, it handles professionally. With its tried and true V shape grip these tires stick to the road, even in wet conditions. This tread design also provides for excellent handling while driving at high speeds. Not only are the Primewell PZ900 tires made for speed and handling, they are also durable,
mont blanc price list Who Makes Primewell Tires Will Surprise Consumers
with cutting edge side wall protection built in. These products will cost more than your standard commuter product, but for the thrill seeking driver, this is the model to choose.

Light TruckPrimewell has focused its production efforts on car products for a long time, but they also have a line of tires for trucks. The Primewell PA100s are a light truck product, and like their other lines, this line has its specialties. The biggest advantage of this model is its all terrain and off road ability. A deep tread, together with thick side walls, provide great traction on all surfaces, as well as superior protection against puncture and other damage. These models are inexpensive, and despite their road design, they are a great option for an outdoor enthusiast.

Who Sells Primewell Tires?Once you have decided on a brand and a style of tire, you need to find a quality carrier to buy them from. There are several different avenues you could take when purchasing new tires. Who sells the product you want, and the pros and cons of each distributor are major factors.

FirestoneThese tires are made for the Firestone Company and its affiliated stores; they are the main licensed dealers in the United States. Primewells are, in fact, mainly made for the Firestone Company. The positive side of buying from Firestone is that you get real people who can provide on the spot customer service. The down side is that they are trying to sell their product and if you go in without having an idea of what you want, there is a chance that you pay more than you want for a product that doesn meet your needs.

Online RetailersMany online retailers also sell these products, which consumers can order online and have delivered right to their doors. Searching online retailers also allows a potential customer comparison shop to make sure they are getting the best bang for their buck. You can even special order some ranges directly from the official Primewell website. You are almost guaranteed to find better prices when you shop around on the internet, however you are making some sacrifices. When you buy online, your installation becomes separate. You might meet added costs, and you lose that direct customer service that is nice in a dealership.

Choosing the Best Product for YouSo many details go into when finding the right product for your particular needs. Certainly, when it comes to tires you need to find the right size and style for your vehicle; you obviously shouldn put bus tires on your sedan. Looking for replacements can be time consuming; be patient. The best advice when looking at new tires is to do plenty of research, decide what is best for you, and get a professional opinion.
