mont blanc ink pen Ardelle Hirsch
Ardelle Hirsch is the new director of media and public relations at The Sage Colleges. Born in the Bronx and raised on Long Island, she attended SUNY Plattsburgh and Hofstra University. She has two children and two grandchildren. Hirsch lives in Delmar.
Q: When did you start at Sage?
A: I started July 7, but it doesn’t feel like I have been here that long. I love it, though, because my background is in academia I taught English and public speaking on the high school level and I actually had John Tesh as a student and I had a public affairs show on Fox 23. This job combines the things I like to do.
Q: So, what attracted you to Sage?
A: I love ballroom dancing. It’s my passion. I do it three or four times a week with my dancing partner. I love spending time with my grandchildren and making them say funny things. I learn so much from them. I also like to walk,
read, go to New York City, and write.
Q: What was it like having John Tesh, an Entertainment Tonight co host and radio show host, as a student?
A: Well, he was 18 years old and I was just starting my first year teaching so I was 21 years old. It was at the Garden City High School on Long Island in 1969 and 1970. His work was usually tardy and incomplete but he had a great voice. I always told him to get into radio.
